Gunalt Sensuous at Spearhil

The Weimaraner isn't just a hunter, inside every elegant silver ghost is a true family companion.

As a breed they do not thrive on being parted from their family members instead they are an active participant in all day to day activities. An excellent breed when trained with dog educated children they often make good companions for the whole family.

Bonnie is a special Weimaraner she has not only shared many an adventure in the hunting fields she has also been my visual aid at university acting as a guide / assistance dog, a representative of her breed at events like the Kennel Clubs ‘Discover Dogs’ & introducing potential new owners of rescues to the breed on behalf of the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain (WCGB).

Bonnie has a gentle temperament I have found a great asset. She has a very intuitive ability with the disabled, elderly & young children, often having crawling babies & young toddlers all over her at the Universities 'family meet & greet' sessions. As a resident of Sussex University she has helped to educate & befriend many of the international student's children who would otherwise not be exposed to the pleasures a pet dog brings.

In the hunting field she has proved to be a methodical & careful team player excellent in woodland & in the water excelling particularly on duck. A soft mouthed retriever she will travel good distance with ease returning to hand. Bonnie has been used successfully on fur, feather & deer.

As a family we foster on occasion 'Weimaraner's in Need' for both the WCGB & the IWRRS (Independent Weimaraner Rescue Re-homing Service) these dogs often need the companionship of another dog that is calm, friendly & offers some support to rebuild their confidence something Bonnie has been very good at. If you are interested in a rescue & think that you can offer one of these special dogs a home please see the 'links' page where you will find links to their sites.
